The Founders and Editors
Sydney Loney
Sydney put a hard-earned English degree to use selling ski jackets and hiking boots before enrolling in a post-graduate journalism program. That second degree not only looked cool in the frame her mom bought, but it launched Sydney’s career as an international writer and editor for a variety of women’s magazines. She’s penned elucidating prose on everything from fashionable footwear to gossipy celeb profiles, but her focus has tended toward health, fitness, nutrition and parenting. When she’s not working, Sydney reads, rides horses and explores the world with her son, Charlie.
Nancy Ripton
A Bachelor of Science in Geography led Nancy to Central America where she honed her Spanish skills while collecting rainwater for Costa Rica’s National Meteorology Institute. Then, after a brief stint working at an oil company in Calgary, she moved to Toronto to complete a journalism program while managing the fitness and personal training programs at a downtown gym. After graduation, Nancy combined her love of health and writing as editor-in-chief of Oxygen women’s fitness. For the past two years, she has worked as a freelance writer and is a regular contributor to Fit Pregnancy and Pregnancy magazines. When she’s not researching and writing about the latest health and baby trends, Nancy runs, plans her next holiday destination and hangs out with her son, Bode.
